Brynmawr Farm

Trev from Brynmawr Farm talks about the help WWOOFer’s bring to the farm and how they manage WWOOFer’s.

Brynmawr Farm is a mixed organic hill farm with Highland and Hereford cattle and Shetland sheep in Shropshire. They manage a nature reserve and are also part of a Stewardship Scheme with a straw-bale education centre where school groups visit.

Penpont

Penpont is a privately owned rural estate of 2,000 acres. The main house and outbuildings are all grade 1 listed and it has been home to the same family since it was first built in 1666. The Victorian walled gardens have been registered organic with The Soil Association and the vegetable production unit is about 5 acres, producing a variety of fruit, vegetables, herbs, and cut flowers for their small farm shop, as well as supplying various pubs and restaurants.

Vina, the owner of Penpont and Pete, Penpont’s full-time grower, talk about their experience of having WWOOFer’s and the help they bring to the gardens.

Ramshaw Wood & Meadow

David & Mary are a retired couple in their 60’s with a 6.5 acre plot – half woodland and half water meadow – which they are returning to sustainable management, and improving habitat and biodiversity.

Lower Arboll Croft

Fuggo from Lower Arboll Croft in North Scotland shares her experiences of being a WWOOF Host.

Situated 5 minutes walk from sandy beach with views across Firth to Sutherland hills, Fuggo and Geoff have a 2 acre woodland garden growing fruit, vegetables, herbs, native trees and are creating a nature-friendly environment.

Redfield

Redfield community is an established intentional community of around 23 people, sharing a very large 19th century house set in 17 acres. They use various organic and permaculture techniques to produce fruit, and veg and keep sheep, chickens, pigs and bees.

Chris is a resident at Redfield community and talks about the WWOOF weekends they have several times a year.

Fyfett Farm

Matthew from Fyfett Farm in Somerset speaks about what WWOOFer’s help with around the farm.

Fyfett Farm is a low input sheep farm on the Blackdown Hills of Somerset in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty with two County wildlife sites. They also have a self-catering, self hand built, log cabin for tourisim.

Felin Uchaf Eco Centre

Felin Uchaf Eco Centre is a land-based social enterprise. Over the past 10 years the charity has been developing a formerly derelict 23 acre farm as a cultural and environmental education centre. The project is situated in an area of outstanding natural beauty and Welsh speaking communities.

Project Manager Dafydd speaks about why they developed a thorough application process for selecting volunteers.
